Finding Various Types Of Golf Balls
Posted at Jun 22nd, 2010 in Golf Books
There is a staggering selection of golf balls out there. If you track such things, you’ll see that a new one comes out seemingly every week. The golf ball business is booming, with makers like Nike, Callaway, and Titleist making huge profits. What makes one golf ball all that great, though?
Personally I like to get used golf balls. I get my Pro V1’s at less than half the cost of new from a guy here in Scottsdale, and they’re near perfect. If you don’t have a source local to you, try online. There are several websites that sell used balls, and they’ll ship your purchase to you.
You can also find plenty of inexpensive balls that are fine for a high handicap golfer. If you have a handicap of 20 or more, not only will a fancy ball not make a difference, it actually makes no sense. You’re wasting your money.
Instead, if you are in the high handicap category, save money on balls and instead purchase higher quality clubs, or lessons to improve your game. Then get your balls cheap at a sporting goods store or somewhere like Target.
Golf balls that bear a company logo are also very popular, and are a great marketing tool. Put your company logo on a golf ball and people will be passing around your business name. These balls go over great at charity events, tournaments, and company functions.
Every lost ball then becomes marketing. Think of it. When you or one of your customers loses a ball with your logo on it, someone is going to find it. Someone who will then see your business name and logo.
You can really do it up with custom golf balls! I’ve seen people put photos on them, their names on them, you name it. Anything you think of can go on a golf ball.
In fact, some are a bit over the top. But whatever you want for your business is fine by me. Regardless, we’ll keep buying golf balls that is for certain.
