How To Fix Your Golf Swing

With the increasing popularity of golf, many have tried and failed to make their game perfect. A professional and quality play will sometimes take years to master. But if you really want to fix your golf swing such that you can play well with your friend, then you need to read these tips on how to fix and improve your golf swing.

You should start with gripping your club with your left hand. Your left thumb should be along the shaft. Next, warp it with your right hand in a way that your right palm cupped your left thumb perfectly. Point slightly your knees as you making a posture. Your right foot should point straight ahead. And your left foot should point a little to the left. Make your stance wider if you have a longer club.

Also, your elbows and arms should be as close as possible. Your right and left elbow should point directly at your right and left hip, respectively. Next, try to imagine a flat plane between your shoulders and the ball. To do a back swing, begin at your hands followed by your arms and shoulders. Always make your hands move parallel to this plane throughout the swing.

Many golfers let their left knee collapse towards their right knee while doing a back swing. Thus, causing their shoulder to drop and making their hips sway and overturn. To solve this, imagine your left knee going out toward the target. You got it correctly if you begin to feel tension and stability in both knees. If you still can’t get it, try imagining a basketball between your knees.

For a downswing, begin by rotating your hips back toward the ball. If you don’t begin at your hips, you will lack power to strike the ball. When the club makes contact, your left wrist bone should be pointing at the ball. Remember that if the club gets outside the ball-to-target line, you’re more likely heading for trouble.

And sometimes you can cause a golf slice if your swing is an out-to-in swing. The out-to-in swing is sometimes due to an open address position. If you keep on doing an out-to-in swing, it would be difficult for you to make a perfect back and down swing. Thus, to correct this error, try imagining a ball 3 to 4 inches away in front of your real golf ball. Strike the real ball as you travel your club along the path to the imaginary ball.

Be aware that the instructions here are meant for right-handed golfer. But for a leftie, just change the left hand with right hand and vice versa. Also, bring a friend along with you. Let him/her observe the way you golf so that he/she can tell you what part of the golf swing needs some improve.
